WOMAN’S DREAMS COME TO LIFE AFTER EMERGING FROM COMA
New Novel Chronicles Woman’s Journey from Mental Slumber to Open-Minded Awakenings

Raleigh, NC (July 30, 2008)-Since her neglectful boyfriend wouldn’t take any constructive criticism from her, Evelyn Lemar sat down and began to rewrite her own version of their relationship to appease herself. These journal entry tirades spawned the tragedy-to-triumph story of a woman’s reluctance to let go of an empty existence to grab hold of a more fulfilling life.

Drama Queen Publications presents “…and then I woke up.” It is the story of Ericka Middleton, a bored single mom with dreams of pursuing a new life in a different city. But her unfounded hope of resurrecting her dying relationship with longtime boyfriend, Maurice Council keeps her in place. Her ‘platonic’ friendship with married former coworker, Desmond Wright, provides a temporary fix to her broken situation. But when tragedy strikes, Ericka is forced out of her comfort zone and made to choose between life and death.

Lemar, a federal government employee, is surprised by the positive response she’s received, even before she decided to finish the story. “I ran it by a few of my girlfriends who were avid readers, and they kept calling me asking me ‘So, what happens next?’” She recalls, jokingly, “I basically finished it to get them off my back.” She is already working on a prequel to the story to explain what happened first.
